Cedar Falls Zen Sitting Group     
We meet at St. Lukes Episcopal Church, 2410 Melrose Drive in Cedar Falls, IA.

General Information
  • We meditate in the style of the Japanese Soto tradition. The purpose of this group is doing Shikantaza together. ( Shikantaza means - 'just simply sitting'. )
  • We maintain a silence throughout the meditation.
  • Participants bring own zafu & zabuton , or cushions & blanket for the sitting. Chairs are available at the site.
  • The last half of alternate Tuesday sessions are for listening to dharma talk recorded by the Cedar Rapids Zen Center.

    Tuesday evenings
    19:20 - 19:50 zazen (sitting meditation)
    19:50 - 20:00 kinhin (walking meditation)
    20:00 - 20:30 zazen (sitting meditation) or
    listening to Dharma Talk from 19:50
    Saturday mornings
    7:20 - 7:50 zazen (sitting meditation)
    7:50 - 8:00 kinhin (walking meditation)
    8:00 - 8:30 zazen

    New To Our Group
    Because we meet outside of the church's business hours, the building doors are usually locked. If you are new to our group, please call 319-277-3826 (Yayoi), or 319-266-8831(Karen), or 319-277-6115 (Larry), or e-mail us before attending your first sitting.
